With so many devices out in the market, you’d be excused for thinking that Samsung would ignore some of the lower grade models when it comes to OS updates. However, Samsung have just announced that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 WiFi (model number SM-T310) has been updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 Upgraded to Android 4.4.2 KitKat:
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 was released only released last June and when sold shipped with Android 4.2.2. Now, they are giving it a boost up to 4.4.2, skipping Android 4.3 all together. The update is currently rolling out over the air (OTA) or can be done via Kies (Samsung’s proprietary Mac & PC syncing software) or you can download it from the SamMobile Website.
This update comes only days after they updated the 7 inch tablet form to the same OS. It’s fair to say that updates could be going to other tablet soon too. Currently available in France, it should be available to most users by the end of the week world wide, if not sooner.
Upgrading to KitKat is a great choice, as it improves stability and security and adds great features such as wireless printing and white menu icons to name but a few.
