Gone are the times when Barnes and Noble made their own tablets. After disappointing sales of their products, B&N decided to partner up with Samsung for their new NOOK tablet. And the product of that is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK.
The Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK is a 7-inch tablet with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. The resolution of its display is 1280×800 pixels, which is not that bad, but not the best either. It has 1.5GB RAM, 8GB storage plus a microSD card slot. It features a 4000mAh battery, 3MP back and 1.3MP front-facing camera.
On the software side, the Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with custom B&N software, which gives accent of magazines, books and other multimedia content. It also comes with the proprietary NOOK shop, where you can buy books and magazines. It is certainly different than Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, but that doesn’t certainly mean it’s bad.
This tablet will be launched in August and will be sold at Barnes & Noble stores in USA and on Internet for $200.
