Google has finally released its remote desktop application for Android on the Chrome Web Store after months of rumors.
The app aims to provide an effortless experience, much like Teamviewer or any other remote access tool. Chrome Remote Desktop basically grants Android users access to their PC or Mac provided users install a seperate Remote Desktop add-on. The application is currently compatible with at least Windows XP and Mac OSX 10.6 (or later).
As far as security is concerned, a six-digit pin number will be requested upon connection while SLL ensures the integrity of the session. Google also adds that no personal or session data is collected in the process.
Google also plans to release an iOS version later this year but no specific dates were mentioned.
