Slowly but steady, Oppo is making its way into the top 10 smartphone makers. The Chinese mobile maker already made a huge impact on this segment with its Oppo Find 5, followed earlier this year by Oppo N1, a smartphone that brings a different Camera approach to the table and the first device to launch with CyanogeMod OS pres-installed.
Today, Oppo introduced Oppo R1 (R829T) a mid-range phone that packs a large 5-inch HD display, which is powered by MediaTek’s MT6582 chipset, quad-core 1.3GHz processor, with 1GB of RAM 16GB built-in storage and an 8MP rear camera. Oppo R1 runs on Android 4.2 JellyBean.
Oppo R1 weighs in at 140 grams, and it is 7.1 mm thin, comes with a 2410 mAh battery and it is already available via Oppo online store for CNY 2498, about $410. No word on its global availability.
