Clamshell phones are a design that have become of age to date, but Samsung may just be bringing back the classic designs in line but with a fine touch as it will be running on Android making their experience one that many users will be looking forward to. The model number to this new range of phone SCH-W789 dubbed Hennessy is speculated to be launched soon according to recent photos thanks to Sammy Hub and is expected to be rolled out by China Telecom. The phone also comes equipped to support of both CDMA and GSM networks. The Hennessy isn’t the only Samsung flip phone that is said to be in the works, which could lead to some confusion, Samsung Galaxy Folder development SHV-E400K dubbed Galaxy Golden an Android speculated flip phone makes it to two (2),the number of clamshell phones that are yet to hit the market from Samsung.
On the specs side Hennessy will run Android 4.1 OS, a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor Snapdragon 200, 5MP camera with flash, microSD card slot, and something we don’t come cross everyday- the phone will have an external and internal 3.3-inch HVGA displays with a 320×480 resolution, 1GB RAM and Luxury Gold colour option. On the flip side Galaxy Golden is rumoured to bag higher specs in comparison to the Hennessy expected to run on Snapdragon 400 running at 1.7 GHz and 2GB of RAM and an impressive 3.7-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 480×800 pixels, and is likely to run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and include an 1820mAh battery.
Comparing the two images it’s clear to spot the similarity and in as much as we would want to get a hold of any of these gadgets it’s unfortunate that the devices will only be available to the Chinese market initially though since no information seems to point that devices will ship outside the Asian market. So let’s wait and see if Samsung may go out of its way and make Hennessy and Galaxy Golden available for the other markets.
