Can you guess who has finally decided that it is time to enter the phablet arena, and no, it’s not Apple, but HTC. Lets get a few things straight here, the HTC One is by itself one of the best, if not the best smartphone of 2013. Design and spec wise, the phone is a pure beauty. Okay, I do admit the lack of a microSD slot makes things a little bit dicey but hey, it is still a beast.
A couple of images have leaked out over the weekend, unveiling for the first time the almost similar looks (design) found on the HTC One and HTC One Mini. These images come to confirm HTC One Max design from previous blueprint leak.
There’s also a tinier more suited version of the HTC One, called HTC One mini, which it’s a bite sized version of the flagship device, suited for people who prefer smaller, less pocket hogging phones, but can still pack a punch in terms of performance.
HTC, with HTC One Max can be said to have thrown down the gauntlet at Samsung, who are just about to announce their latest iteration of their phablet line, the Galaxy Note 3.
In terms of hardware components, HTC One Max will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and Android 4.2.2. The One Max to be released in China is said to have dual SIM slots as well. Apart from its 5.9 inch screen size, it still utilizes the same UltraPixel camera as the HTC One, so no surprises there.
With this release, HTC is trying to broaden in a way customers option in terms of screen size, which is a good thing, I mean look at Samsung and how many variants of the Galaxy S4 they’ve launched so far.
