On Wednesday, at Breakfast with Sundar Pinchai event, Google announced the next generation of the Nexus 7 tablet, and just days after that announcement we (US customers for now) are able to buy the new device through Google Play store. The new Nexus 7 is now available on pre-order with shipping expected for July 31st. There’s also an alternative, you can buy it a couple of days earlier through some retail stores, if your lucky enough to not stay in line for a unit.

The next generation Google Nexus 7 tablet packs a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM (that’s double the amount in comparison with previous version), a 7 inch LCD IPS Full HD (1920×1080) display, 5MP and 2MP cameras, optional 4G LTE connectivity, stereo speakers, 16/32GB internally and Android 4.3 Jellybean.

The price varies according to which variant you need. The 16GB WiFi-only costs $229, while the 32GB WiFi-only can be yours for $249 and if you want 4G/LTE to the 32GB model, then get ready to add an extra $100, because this version costs $349.
