ZTE Nubia Z5 Mini

You might have heard about ZTE Nubia Z5, quite a powerful Android device, although mostly popular in China. Now ZTE comes out with a smaller Z5 version, this time it’s a “mini”. The ZTE Nubia Z5 Mini has been announced yesterday in China by ZTE and is already in stores for purchase. After Samsung released its own mini version of the Samsung Galaxy s3 a year back and the s4 mini a few weeks ago, it seems manufacturers have found a way to market their new spin-off devices as minis, only a little bit smaller, but with serious hardware on the inside.

Lets not forget HTC too have a HTC One mini in the works. So the ZTE Nubia Z5 mini isn’t as small as its named suggests. The first ZTE Nubia Z, which you can see it unboxed and reviewed is 5 inches, but the new ZTE Nubia Z5 Mini is only having a 4.7 inch display. So not such a big difference. The ZTE Nubia Z5 mini has a 1280×720  pixel resolution, which although isn’t full HD as devices nowadays have touted themselves as having,is still pretty good.

ZTE Nubia Z5 Mini full specs are as follows:

  • Android Jelly Bean 4.2   (just like the ZTE Nubia Z5)
  • 2 GB of RAM
  • 16 GB of internal memory
  • A quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor
  • Micro SD card slot upto 32 GB
  • a 2,300 mAh battery.
  • Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n network
  • Bluetooth with A2DP support
  • 13 Megapixel rear camera
  • 5 megapixel for the front camera
  • 3G connectivity (including TD-SCDMA for China Mobile)

As far as pricing goes, the ZTE Nubia Z5 Mini apparently costs 1,888 CNY which translates to about $308 USD. The device comes with an array of colorful back plates that can be easily swapped to match the users taste. As for the camera,it is said that the ZTE Nubia Z5,its a  Sony 13 mega-pixel CMOS chip with an F2.2 aperture and 5 lens optics, which means it probably will shoot great photos.

This device gives the minis out there a run for their money, it also has quite a large display. Will it go international? No information has been divulged on this, but we will update you as soon as any information is released.
