HTC’s devices may have a premium design yet the Taiwanese manufacturer has always been terrible as far as updates were concerned, let’s not forget their ICS fiasco. But that should hopefully not happen with their newest flagship. – The HTC One which is expected to taste the latest Android goodies in just a matter of time according to a new leak!
The update doesn’t bring anything major to the table but we noticed the inclusion of the quick settings as well as minor UI tweaks here and there. Most noticeably the battery percentage meter (something already found on other devices), a long-press-for-menu on the home button. Some changes to the app drawer have also been made; the user can now remove icons from the dock etc but the core Sense 5 UI will remain unchanged for the most part.
In addition to those you’ll also be able to play with the usual Android 4.2.2 features like Daydream while enjoying several performance improvements under the hood. No release dates were mentioned but we expect it to hit OTA channels anytime soon. HTC may also include addition fixes to repair the heavily criticize poor HDR mode for instance but that’s just one possibility!
