CyanogenMod, one of the best & most popular custom ROM will be officially supporting the latest Sony lineup starting right off with CyanogenMod 10.1. The list includes the Xperia Z, ZL, T, TX and finally V. All of which feature modern Qualcomm S4 SoCs.
Sony devices have been enjoying a rather stable development pace lately, we’ve seen the case of the Xperia S which was once given the AOSP status but times have changed, the Xperia S will not be officially supported but its newer Android 4.1.2-powered brothers shall fully embrace CyanogenMod 10.1.
The latest Sony devices have just received their first public CM10.1 nightly builds which are of course not intended for everyday usage but most core functionality should working without too much hassle.
Avid users should first unlock their bootloaders, root & flash a custom recovery then apply the CM10.1 ROM along with Gapps. As always, be wary of such unstable builds, you may be surprised to discover missing features or serious bugs. Your device may be rendered unusable shall anything go terribly wrong. Caution is advised!
