Asus developed a Nexus 7-like but entry-level tablet called MeMO Pad ME172V (7 inch) which has been announced during CES 2013 in Las Vegas at the beginning of the year alongside MeMO Pad Smart (10 inch tablet).
Today the low-budget tablet has hit the shelves in the US for $150 which makes it probably the most affordable Android 4.1 JellyBean tablet designed by a top manufacturer. Dont expect much in terms of performance as this wasnt build for speed and power, but rather to accomplish everyday online tasks and bring ultra portability to its costumers.
Asus MeMO Pad ME172V packs a single core 1GHz VIA WM8950 processor with 1GB of RAM, 7 inch IPS (1024 x 600, 170PPI) display, 1MP front-facing, no rear camera, 8GB or 16GB internal storage expandable via a microSD card up to 32GB + 5GB Asus cloud storage, 4,270 mAh Li-Polymer battery, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n , GPS, Bluetooth, 196.2 x 119.2 x 11.2 mm and Android 4.1.1 JellyBean.
The MeMO Pad is available at Amazon or GameStop.
