At the beginning of the month Sony Mobile promised a more detailed schedule regarding its Xperia 2012 series and the upgrade to Android 4.1 JellyBean and they kept their promise, however the rollout scheduling is more than disappointing.

According to Sony first up are the Xperia T, Xperia TX and Xperia V, these smartphones will receive Jelly Bean during February and March 2013, while Xperia P, Xperia J and Xperia go will be upgraded from the end of March and then Xperia S, Xperia SL, Xperia ion and Xperia acro S will follow in the subsequent weeks.

Even worse news has been brought to Xperia U, Xperia miro, Xperia tipo, and Xperia sola customers, which will not get any further updates beyond Android 4.0.

A good reason to always consider Google Nexus-branded devices.
