Sprint rolls software updates to Motorola Photon Q and LG Viper 4G LTE

Sprint has begun pushing out Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich firmware upgrade on November first to LG Viper 4G LTE devices and will continue to do so until November 12. Besides upgrading from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich OS users will discover a the following changes:

Enhancements/Fixes:

  • Number of users displayed on Hotspot
  • Upgrade of the Google OS to Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0)
  • Improved Lock Screen
  • Home screen folders
  • Improved Android Browser
  • Improved Camera Experience
  • Face Unlock
  • Resizable widgets
Once the lates software is successfuly installed all LG Viper 4G LTE devices will run software version LS840ZVI. And this is not all!
Sprint is also rolling out as we speak a software update to Motorola Photon Q smartphones which brings the following fixes and improvements:
  • More easily import contacts from SD card.
  • Improved music playback, both streaming from Amazon Cloud or Internet Radio services and music saved to the phone – minimizes occasional skips or -repeats
  • Enhancements for WiFi hotspot in GSM/UMTS mode and adding new WiFi connections.
  • Now supports 1080p HD video capture, and enhanced video settings for more responsive playback.
  • Easier creating and accepting calendar meeting notices on the phone.

After the installation is successful firmware version changes to 7.7.1Q-6_SPR-125_ASA-10.
