A new device showed up on Bluetooth SIG certification website. The device model number SH837U / SH837M / SH837W will be sold under the Sharp brand. The multiple model numbers show Sharp will release the device on different markets, to start in Asia.
Sharp isn’t very known by its Android devices. Last year, a Sharp was announced by DOCOMO and Orange. This is a redesigned device from the Japanese market, running Android 2.3.4 and named Aquos SH80F for the European markets in Germany and France. An other device is the Sharp FX Plus for the US market, still running Android 2.2 and already discontinued.
The new Sharp, well, it’s huge considering its 4.7 inch screen and it looks nice. Although it will run on a 1GHZ Cortex A9 processor (MTK MT6577) with 512MB RAM running Android 4 ICS. Other specs are a 8MP rear camera, 4GB eMMC memory and Bluetooth 4.0. It will be build by Foxconn. Imagine this kind of device rolling off the band besides an iPhone 5.
There is more to expect from the phone announced at NTT Docomo’s Wintercollection. The Aquos Zeta SH-02E will come with a 4.9 inch HD screen, a APQ8064 1.5GHz Quad Core processor, a plus 2000mAh battery and a 16MP rear camera (but still running Android 4.0 – not 4.1).
