So, this should be the Next Nexus, the device that showed upon the internet a few days ago, showing high res images of it. And now, a Belarus‘ website claims to have reviewed the Nexus 4, the LG E960.
Well, it isn’t much of a review in my opinion. The fact is, it’s about a very buggy prototype, telling the devices keeps rebooting, won’t charge when plugged and lacks the driver to get connected to a computer. It shows some convincing benchmark results and a couple of attractive screenshots, it even shows pictures taken with it’s camera, it is compared to the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy Nexus. I’m almost buying, but.
Some things just seem quite buggy indeed. A few ‘minor’ details that just give me this feeling. First of all, there appears to be none such screenshot that shows a model number, an Android build, Kernel and processor. Why? Wouldn’t that the first thing to mention: this is it!
Second, the back of the phone shows among many other things, ‘with Google’. A Nexus device would just tell us ‘Google’. Last but not least, the web-browser’s icon – shouldn’t that be a Chrome icon, especially when the Nexus 4 is running Android 4.2?
I find it very hard to believe that Google somewhere lost just one prototype, a very buggy one, just 17 days before launch.
When I was a young boy, there was this movie Top Gun, about a some friends eagerly wanting to be jet fighters. I still remember this line, a commanding officer shouting at a pupil and the pupil answering, about something rather irrelevant and being as serious as funny: “Do you believe that shit?!” “Yes, sir!!”
I’m really trying to believe what I’ve seen and read, but al the rumors have made me very skeptical. I’ll choose to wait 17 more days, when the also rumored release-date of October 29 occurs. Believe me, that will be some long waiting.
