What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you first hear the name ‘smart projector‘? Samsung Galaxy Beam maybe? That’s probably right, because it’s the only one of its kind with no competition in its class, until now. Well, we can’t say it’s a direct competitor to the Galaxy Beam, because it’s a totally different thing – it’s a tablet. The manufacturer of this slate with built-in projector is SmartQ, a not-so-known Chinese company. Its latest effort is this projector-packing tablet which is known by its name SmartQ U7H. Its projector is able to project an image of 854×480 pixels on a distance which is a fraction under 6 feet.
Apart from that, the specs are typical what we usually find on mid-range tablets. It has a 7 inch screen with resolution of 1024×600 pixels, 1GB RAM and has two storage options: 8GB and 16GB. With the 8GB version comes 1GHz OMAP 4430 CPU, whereas with the 16GB storage version comes a slightly beefier OMAP 4460 processor.
We don’t know anything about the price of this 7 inch slate. If it’s priced correctly, it may have an impact on the sales of its competitors in the class, like the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD. We’ll see whether the projector will be a key selling point for this tablet or not.
