In a press event held earlier today (September 25) in Tokyo, Japan, Google introduced its 16GB Nexus 7 tablet to the Asian market. This is the only variant Google will sell in Japan and it is available through its Play store for 19,800 yen ($250). The tablet will also be marketed by retailers in the country starting Octomber 2nd.
The device is already available in Europe (UK, France, Germany, Spain), North America (the US and Canada), Australia and now in Asia, according to Google.
Besides launching its first Nexus-branded tablet in Asia, Google also brought more sharing content to the recently ranked third in the worlds biggest country to download apps from Play store. Customers will be able to buy books through Google Play Books, as well as rent local language movies.
