Android’s growth has been more than spectacular as we’ve seen before with the platform hitting 1.3 million activations daily. The official figures are out and they’re pretty impressive considering that Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean are rather young releases which have yet to be adopted on a large-scale.
Jelly Bean has seen a 50% growth in just one month, from a mere 0.8% to 1.2%. That’s around 2.23 million devices more being shipped with Jelly Bean onboard while ICS bumped from 15.9% to 20.8%
Previous releases like the long forgotten Froyo (2.2) and Gingerbread (2.3) have both seen slight drops, Gingerbread went from 60.6% to 57.2%, and Froyo is down from 15.5% to just 14%.
