As unique as it is with its dual display design, Sony Tablet P poor sales and the lack of developer interest has made the Japanese manufacturer to question whether it is worth or not to work on a software update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

On the other hand, according to Tabletguide [NL] blog who received official confirmation at the IFA 2012 from one of Sony’s representatives there, Sony Tablet P support for Jelly Bean upgrade has been dropped, while Sony Xperia Tablet S and Tablet S will receive Android 4.1, but to when it will happen is unknown even for him for now.

This is one of those “good” examples where customers should really consider his/her options before making a final decision on which device to purchase, especially if you relay on receiving software updates afterwards.
