Asus PadFone II gets Wireless Certification, Launch Set for Q4 2012

Asus 3 in 1 (smartphone, tablet, netbook) Android device called PadFone has been announced at the beginning of 2012 in Barcelona during Mobile World Congress and it looks like a second generation hybrid is almost ready to hit the shelves.

A new Asus device dubbed PadFone II just passed through WiFi certification under model number A86 a few days ago. During Asustek Computer’s investors conference held on August 29, the CEO Jerry Shen said “the company will return to the market and will launch new smartphones in the second quarter of 2013 with both Android and Windows Phone 8 being considered,” according to DigiTimes.

Asus is also set to launch second generation PadFone handheld in the fourth quarter of this year, according to the same source, considering that PadFone 2 already received its wireless certification, Asus might announce it by this Christmas, hitting the shelves somewhere in early 2013 ( January / February).
