Kindle Fire 2 to supersede the first Kindle Fire soon

Amazon has recently announced that the Kindle Fire is out of stock, having sold all units in the U.S the company is now focusing on its replacement which is a week from being unveiled. The mysterious successor is rumored to either be a phablet or another revamped 7 inch Kindle tablet with upgraded hardware under the hood. The launch event is planned for September 6th

Amazon, in a press release stated – “We’re grateful to the millions of customers who have made Kindle Fire the most successful product launch in the history of Amazon,” said Jeff Bezos, Amazon.com Founder and CEO in a statement on the news. “This has been a big year for digital products on Amazon – all of the top 10 sellers on Amazon.com since Kindle Fire launched just less than a year ago are digital products.”

The CEO announced that a future roadmap with ‘best hardware’, the ‘best prices’, the ‘best customer service’, ‘best cross-platform interoperability’ & the ‘best content ecosystem’ is in the works. That gives us a glimpse of what Amazon may be working on. A super smartphone, a new high end tablet? Only time will tell but we’re sure that something great is being prepared!
