Another major player in the smartphone industry recently entered the Samsung-Apple legal fight. Google’s Motorola filed a new Patent case against Apple claiming that some key features on some Apple devices infringe its patents, that obviously includes Siri.
In total Google claims that 7 Patents were infringed by Apple, that encompasses location reminders, e-mail notification and phone/video players as reported by Bloomberg. On top of that Google owned Motorola Mobility even made this statement, further denouncing Apple’s attempt to block others from innovating:
“We would like to settle these patent matters, but Apple’s unwillingness to work out a license leaves us little choice but to defend ourselves and our engineers’ innovations.”
If ever the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) validates and and approves Google’s claims that would undeniably mean that Apple would be faced with a ban on imports of the iPhone, iPad & iMac.
