Every since HTC introduced its latest ONE series at MWC 2012 in Barcelona, Spain we have learned that HTC One S is powered by Qualcomm’s dual-core MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 processor, however HTC today launched One is Taiwan sporting an older chipset Qualcomm MSM8260 S3 clocked at 1.7GHz with Adreno 220 GPU.
When asked about HTC decision to change the CPU for Taiwan market one of company’s spokeman said “mobile phone will provide consumers the same experience.”
HTC One S for Taiwan has the same hardware specifications as the global model the only change suffered is the CPU. The phone is equipped with a 4.3-inch AMOLED qHD display, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of build-in memory storage, 8MP as the main shooter and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
The smartphone costs 17,900 Taiwan dollars (about $600 USD).
