Telstra announces Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for GALAXY S2 owners

A software update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has started rolling out today in Australia for Telstra GALAXY S II customers.

The update is available over the air (OTA) everyone will get a notification asking to update your phone to the latest version or you can try pulling the new firmware by going into the Settings>About phone>Software update. It’s about 200MB in size make sure to charge with at least %50 juice before proceeding with the update.

The update is also available via Samsung KIES software, just connect your handset via USB cable. Once it’s connected a message should appear on-screen asking you if you want to do the Firmware Update.

If it doesn’t once your phone is showing as connected go to Tools, firmware Upgrade and Initialisation
Then just follow the on-screen prompts.

Note: If you dismiss the update notification you might not be able to upgrade afterwards unless you try manually via KIES.
