Users owning an unlocked version of “2011 phone of the year,” Samsung GALAXY S II are reportedly receiving an over the air (OTA) software update to Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. The new firmware upgrade file is 216.55MB in size.

If you do get prompt to upgrade, we recommend at least %50 battery charged before going through the whole process (don’t forget to back-up too). If you havent received any notification yet, you can try to manually check for any updates by going into Settings > About Phone > Check for updates.

In other related news UK GALAXY S 2 customers connected to Orange and T-Mobile are also receiving an upgrade via Samsung KIES software.
