Huawei Ascend P1 was announced at MWC in Barcelona and was once widely labelled as the fastest smartphone in the world. The quad-core 1.5Ghz Android smartphone has a 4.3″ qHD AMOLED screen and an 8MP camera. The key selling point of the smartphone is the 7.7mm slim profile.
The phone will launch sometime in May through carriers and retailers in Australia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. It will hit the shelves in Latin America in June followed by European availability in the summer. The Ascend P1 will launch in more markets later on.
However, the pricing structure of the Ascend P1 S is still unknown and nothing is known yet about the device apart from the press release by Huawei. The phone is almost a millimeter thin than the Ascend P1.
The Ascend P1 launched in China today with preorders slated to have crossed 100,000 according to Huawei’s founder and chairman, Ren Zhengfei.
