LG Optimus 3D MAX (Cube) is the world’s first full 3D phone

Its official, LG Mobile announced this morning Optimus 3D MAX (aka Cube) as the follow-up of the original Optimus 3D (LG Thrill in US 11.9mm thick) but slighlty thinner only 9.6mm.

LG Optimus 3D MAX is a complete 3D device with a 1.2GHz dual-core TI OMAP4430 processor, features a 4.3-inch 3D WVGA touch screen with Gorilla Glass 2 display, 1GB of RAM and 8GB on-board storage. In addition 3D MAX has a 5MP camera in the rear with dual-lenses, Android 2.3 Gingerbread (upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich soon after launch), HSPA+ up to 21Mbps, HDMI port with 2D/3D TV/monitor up to 1080p via MHL, NFC and LG Tag Plus stickers.

“The Optimus 3D Max was born from LG’s constant efforts to bring user entertainment experience to a higher level,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “The introduction of the Optimus 3D last year ushered in a new era for smartphones and Optimus 3D Max is real proof of LG’s commitment to portable 3D entertainment.”

The 3D device will launch in South Korea and from there gradually around the globe first stop will be Europe. LG will make the official unveiling at the annual Mobile World Congress next week in Barcelona.
