While US customers have to settle for an unofficial Android 4.0.4 ICS software update, in Europe French carrier announces Android 4.0.5 due to arrive next month.
SFR one of the biggest carriers in France announces a list of upcoming Android updates for several devices. Among these devices included on the list are the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S.
According to a published roadmap by the French carrier both devices are scheduled for a software upgrade to Android 4.0.5 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The update will be available over the air (FOTA) next month (March) for all SFR customers owning such handsets.
The rest of the smartphones scheduled for an upgrade are as follows: LG Optimus Black – Android 2.3.4, HTC Desire S and Desire HD – Android 2.3.5, Samsung Galaxy S, Galaxy Pro and Motorola Defy+ gets Android 2.3.6 update and last but not least HTC Sensation receives Android 4.0 ICS plus HTC Sense 3.5 UI which clears in a way which version of Sense all Sensation handsets receive once the update to ICS OS starts rolling out world-wide. Looks like it’s not the new HTC Sense 4.0 at least not for French customers.
