It’s time for another edition of our weekly review, the Week in Review @PocketDroid.

Sony (not Sony Ericsson) officially announced a new smartphone. That’s the Xperia Ion. Here’s what we said about that:

At AT&T Developers Summit taking place during CES2012 in Las Vegas, Sony and AT&T introduced first Sony* LTE Android smartphone — Xperia Ion.

Sony Xperia Ion boasts an enormous 4.6 inch HD display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine HD resolution touch screen (1280 x 720p) offering a rich HD content viewing, game playing and web navigation experience to the next-level of HD quality. Read more 

There’s another news from Sony. They also announced the highly anticipated Sony Xperia S, formerly known as Xperia Nozomi/Xperia Arc HD. Here’s more about that:

Samsung released the Gingerbread update for the Samsung Captivate. Here’s a cut from the article:

AT&T and Samsung deliver a new firmware upgrade for their Captivate (model SGH-i897), update available through Samsung KIES Mini software available for PC and Mac. Samsung released white Galaxy Tab 10.1 and galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus in Vietnam. Here’s a paragraph from the article:

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1″ is available in white color (half-white actually because the front frames black) for a while now.

This time the same device surface in several shots in Vietnam in fully white covers, both front and back are white no black color present anywhere, making the tablet look like a real pearl. Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is also shown in full white covers in the same gallery. Full article
