LG officially announced for the first time that an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system for its devices back in November when the company informed us that a few of their devices (the Optimus 2X, Optimus Black, Optimus 3D and Optimus LTE) will receive an upgrade by the end of 2011. Unfortunately that wasnt possible in such short-term, but with todays new announcement LG made it clear that they are ready to roll an ICS OS software upgrade in the 2nd quarter of 2012.

In the second quarter of 2012 software upgrades will be available first for the following smartphone models: LG Optimus LTE, Prada phone by LG 3.0, LG Optimus 2X, LG Optimus Sol, LG my Touch Q and the LG Eclipse.

These upgrades will be followed by a new wave of upgrades for the following smartphone models during the third quarter of 2012: the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX.

  1. ALWAYS take what LG says as”maybe maybe not” they have never been able to commit to a comment or supply support  that you or anyone can understand.
