Verizon already rolls a software update for the GALAXY Nexus (build number ICL53F)

Launched last night after midnight by Verizon Wireless, Samsung GALAXY Nexus owners already enjoying a software update for their brand new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich devices.

Hours later after its officially release GALAXY nexus receives a software upgrade build number ICL53F over the air (FOTA) tha brings a few improvements and fixes.

If you do not have experience on how to update your device or how to manually check for this software update please check with Verizon instructions in PDF format.

Device features

  • Optimized Mobile Hotspot when used with VPN.
  • Optimized 3G/4G data sessions for faster response times.
  • Fixed an incorrect notification that “data was disconnected due to roaming”.
  • Wi-Fi now automatically reconnects when returning to a known Access Point.
  • Improvements to special visual effects feature when using front-facing camcorder.
  • Visual improvements to the lock screen.

Email & messaging

  • Fixed an issue where some email attachments would not open correctly.

Apps & Widgets

  • DivX support has been removed, and will be supported in a future up grade.
  • Improved audio volume in Google navigation turn-by-turn directions.
