While rumors was flying over almost all online press media if the source code of Android 4.0 will be released by November 17th or not, i guess we got an answer today from Google.

The source code of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is now available for anyone to download at Android Open-Source Project git servers. This is probably the best news for developers in the last few months isn’t it? I bet many of you guys are extremely impatient about it. You need to know that this source code is the same with the one on the upcoming Samsung GALAXY Nexus.

“Since this is a large push, please be aware that it will take some time to complete. If you sync before it’s done, you’ll get an incomplete copy that you won’t be able to use, so please wait for us to give the all-clear before you sync. This is actually the source code for version 4.0.1 of Android, which is the specific version that will ship on the Galaxy Nexus, the first Android 4.0 device.” Jean-Baptiste M. “JBQ” Queru, Software Engineer, Android Open-Source Project, Google.

Instructions on how-to download the source code can be found down below. Enjoy!!
