Microsoft Demands $15 From Samsung For Each Smartphone

“Microsoft Corp has demanded that Samsung Electronics Co Ltd pay $15 for each smartphone handset it makes based on Google Inc’s Android operating system as the software giant has a wide range of patents used in the mobile platform, local media reported on Wednesday.” — Reuters.

Samsung didnt made any comment at the time but it is speculated that the number #2 manufacturer of hendheld devices in the world, would want to negotiate the price to as low as $10/device.

Samsung, have sold about 19 million smartphones in the April/June quarter, and with a dominant position within the manufacturers of smartphones running on Android, analysts predict Samsung will ┬ábecome No.1 handset maker,ending Nokia’s 10-year reign.
